Make sure you know what an orderred pair is for tomorrow, and familiarize yourselves with the four quadrants.

Walking Stick

This is a walking stick. I found it while out at my parents' house one day last summer. They are completely harmless to people but do prey on other insects. They are a predator and an adept one at that. They get bigger than this. I have seen some that stretched from my fingertips to slightly past my wrist. These are in the class of animals known as insects....they have six legs. In the phylum Arthropoda.

Texas Blind Snake

This is a Texas Blind Snake. I found him one night while watering my lawn. This is as big as this snake gets. Less than a 9 inches.

Opossums

Found this little opossum and five of his little brothers and sisters behind the cabinets in my kitchen. They would eat my cat's food at night. I found this particular one playing dead on the floor in front of both my cats.  They are nocturnal, which means that hunt and move about at night. They are also marsupial, which means that carry their young in a pouch.

Raccoons

This raccoon was a silly little devil.....not little actually. He was trying to unzip my bag while on a hiking trip with my wife.

Collared Lizard

While visiting my mom up in Dumas, Texas, I went for a hike up in Palo Duro Canyon and caught some snapshots of this pretty little Collared lizard. A true Texas native.

Crawfish

I found this little crawfish while at the head waters of the Guadalupe River. They are native only to this river. This water is cold....68 degrees F.
